From a struggling little girl in 2011 to University Graduate: Jokudu Josephine Aba’s Inspiring Journey

Empowered to Reach Children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
In the heart of Rhino Camp settlement, Imvepi refugee settlement, and Mijale host community, a quiet revolution is taking root—a seed of Change.
With support from CRESS Africa Foundation and CRESS UK, agriculture group members received vegetable seeds and cereals earlier this year. Today, their gardens are no longer empty fields—they are vibrant spaces of resilience, purpose, and self-reliance.
From tomatoes, sukumawiki (kale), and onions to maize, these farmers have turned their parcels of land into green sources of income and food security. Through mentorship and continuous support, they’ve learned proper planting techniques, soil management, and sustainable farming practices. Many of the members now confidently manage their crops, ensuring healthy harvests despite the changing weather patterns.
“Before this support, I used to depend on food aid,” says Regina, a mother and member of Paji Toto (meaning reject sleeping) agriculture group. “Now, I grow vegetables that feed my children and give me extra income to buy soap, pay school fees, and save for emergencies.”
Each garden represents more than food—it symbolizes restored dignity, growing confidence, and a path toward economic independence. Farmers are preparing to scale up their efforts and reach new markets.
As the crops grow, so do their ambitions.
CRESS Africa Foundation is proud and request you to walk this journey with them—planting hope, nurturing change, and harvesting impact.
