Health care Initiatives
Health care services: We have signed a tripartite agreement between Binary Medical Center(BMC) and CRESS UK to facilitate the acquisition of necessary supplies and equipment for BMC to enable the successful implementation of CRESS health related projects in primary health care.
Child Accelerated Trauma Therapy (CATT) initiatives: This is a program that provides trauma therapy to children and young people in the West Nile region. The program is currently run by 7 trained volunteer CATT counsellors working in the West Nile region to de-traumatize children.
Beneficiaries: Through community emotional health programs, the CATT program has reached over 345 children and young adults, providing them with vital support and intervention. Of these individuals, 257 have successfully recovered from trauma through CATT therapy, regaining hope and reclaiming their lives. The program's psychological comfort and support have played a pivotal role in reducing the rate of unwanted pregnancies among young girls in primary schools. By addressing their emotional needs and providing donated school supplies, such as exercise books, pens, and pencils, the program has empowered these girls to pursue education and protect their future.
Partnerships: Collaborations with community leaders in the refugee settlements and the host community, mental health professionals, and CRESS UK have been crucial.
