Discipleship and Evangelism Initiatives

Child Discipleship & Evangelism project:  The purpose of this project is to evangelize children with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and the local church for Christian living. Expected outcomes are;

  • Volunteer Children Workers (VCWs) equipped with the skills and knowledge of reaching out to the children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Increased opportunities and grounds for the children in the refugee settlements to be reached with the word of God and be discipled in Bible believing churches.

Activities: The project intends to evangelize and disciple children through;

  • Conducting Supper Seminar Trainings for Volunteer Children Workers (VCWs).
  • Conducting Teaching Children Effectively (TCE) Trainings for Volunteer Children Workers (VCWs).
  • Formation of Sunday Schools, Good News Clubs, and Schools Ministries and conducting weekly club sessions.
  • Formation of Five Days Clubs and conducting club sessions.
  • Showing Jesus and Christian films to evangelize children with the Gospel of Jesus and teach them Christian values.

Beneficiaries: Our project targets refugee children aged 3-17 in the Ocea & Eden Zones of Rhino Camp to enhance their spiritual and moral growth through evangelism, discipleship and Christian teachings. Through the super seminar training, we have equipped 15 VCWs with knowledge and skills in reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus and 5 VCWs in the TCE level 1 training. The VCWs have so far reached out to 4410 children with 772 children giving their lives to Jesus Christ and committed to serve the Lord as their savior. 124 of these children committed their lives to become missionaries when they grow up and support mission activities.

 13 Good news clubs have been formed and weekly sessions are being conducted, but we plan to expand our reach.

Partnerships: We have been closely coordinating with office of the Presiding Priest of Rhino Camp, and the leadership of Rhino and Imvepi Camps refugee local authorities and the churches in implementing this initiative. We also work closely with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) to support the project with teaching materials and trainings.
